Instructions for Updating Price Lists

General Information

You have six price lists, contained in six category folders:
Description Folder Names Excel File Names
Retail Cartridges rem cart rem cart.xls
Inkjets inkjets inkjets.xls
Ribbons ribbons ribbons.xls
Cartridges — Dealers rem cart dealer rem cart dlr.xls
Drums drums drums.xls
Toner Kits kits kits.xls

Set up a folder where the six category folders will be stored and maintained.

Changing Prices

Open the Excel file containing the prices to be updated. After making the changes, save the file as an ".xls" file in your usual Excel location. Save a second time as a ".csv" (comma delimited) file in the corresponding web folder (see above Folder Names). Use the same file name as listed above (the same name of file with different extensions).

Updating Prices on Web Site

Minimize the file. Get on-line and go to the "Americart Data Upload Form" (http://search.cartserver.com/search/ulform.html). Fill in the form as follows:

Cart-id: a-5769
BBS Password: ftcopier
Basename: type in name corresponding to the prices being uploaded; must be exact, as these names are the names of the pages to be updated:
Retail cartridges type in - rem toner cart
Inkjet cartridges type in - inkjet
Ribbons type in - ribbons
Drums type in - drums
Toner kits type in - toner kits
Dealer Cartridges type in - FDEAL2000 **
** Special instructions provided on this page, as this is the one with the password.

Rules File: Click ‘Browse’ and find the corresponding category folder. Within that folder, find the corresponding ‘rules’ folder, i.e. ‘ribbons rules’ in the Ribbons folder. Click on the appropriate rules file so that its location appears in the form.

CSV File: Click ‘Browse’ and find the corresponding category folder. Find the corresponding ".csv" file. Click on the appropriate .csv file so that its location appears in the form.

Operations to perform: choose "download zip".

Click ‘Go’

It will ask you if you want to save it on your hard drive — answer "Yes"

A "Save As" screen will appear — choose the corresponding category folder.

Decompress File

There are two files to take note of: a ‘data’ file, and one with the numeral ‘1’ after, i.e. in the Ribbons folder you will see "ribbons data" and "ribbons 1". Delete the ‘xxx 1’ file. Then double-click on the data file; this will decompress the file and create a new ‘xxx 1’ file.

** Special instructions (after decompressing the FDEAL2000_1.html, rename it FDEAL2000.html, by removing the _1), the reason for this is that if FDEAL2000 is typed into the password page it must correspond exactly with a .html file with the password as the word before the .html.

You are now ready to upload this price list to your site via your normal procedures!
